Myofascial Release: The definition of Myofascial: myo refers to muscle and fascia is a thin layer system of connective tissue that surrounds, supports, and interweaves every muscle, organ, and bone in the body. By using long, stretching strokes to release muscular tension, this technique has the effect of relieving pain and improving muscle function. Swedish Massage: Probably the most common form of massage in the West. The therapist applies oil to the body and gradually strokes the body to induce relaxation, enhance circulation, and increase range of motion. The main strokes are gliding, kneading, rubbing, tapping, and shaking movements. Swedish massage can help the body remove toxins, deliver nutrients to tissues and cells more efficiently, and recover from strains and trauma more quickly. In addition to using the standard strokes, some therapists also apply hot and cold packs. Foot Reflexology: A technique of manipulating the feet (and less frequently, the hands) to improve circulation, ease pain, and increase relaxation in the body. Reflexology is based on the theory that all body parts, organs, and glands are associated with specific areas, called reflex zones, which serve as kind of a mini-map of the entire body. Accupressure: Uses gentle but deep pressure using the thumb, fingers, and/or hands along energy pathways to facilitate relaxation, increase circulation, and harmonization of body, mind and spirit. Combination Massage: Pampering, relaxing, and therapeutic massage that combines swedish massage to relax the muscles followed by deep tissue massage to address tight muscles. Combination massage is our most popular massage Total Body Zen Signature Massage: This treatment integrates all of our massages (aromatherapy, swedish, deep tissue, reflexology and myofascial release) for a truly unique and tranquil experience. Custom blends can be created according to individual needs. Example: Lavender is used to induce a relaxed state. Eucalyptus and peppermint are used to stimulate and awaken the senses. |
